Be Sharp's shear service begins with a careful inspection. The set or "bow" in the blades is checked. The bumpers, rest, and pivot hardware are closely inspected for wear. Edges are checked for "nicks" and excessive wear. Closure and finish are checked. Only then, are the parts disassembled and cleaned. The edges are sharpened and "triple" honed to razor sharpness with the same methods and abrasives used in the factory finishing room. The blades are polished, and reassembled Tips are adjusted for proper closure and polished. The "freefall" is adjusted to a snug, like new, hand. After test cutting on real hair, your shears are ready to be return shipped.
Clipper blades are inspected for broken teeth (Be Sharp will not resharpen blades with broken teeth. Currently only #40 surgical blades have replaceable combs.) Blades are disassembled. Guides, springs, and sockets are inspected, and replaced if needed, at no additional charge. Sockets are reset to factory tolerances. The combs and cutters are washed in a special blade wash to remove lanolin and other debris. They are then dried and honed on specially machined plates to reproduce the original factory hollow grind. After reassembly each blade is tested with both factory test string and fur. Blades are individually wrapped in corrosion inhibiting paper and labeled with the blade size number clearly visible, and returned.
